If the reasons are accepted, the race bib can be collected on the day of the race before the start. (The maximum date to ask for it is the 1st of April 2026 at 11:59pm).

Registration implies complete acceptance of the content of these regulations. These regulations must be strictly adhered to by all those participating in any of the 5 races of the II Travessa Mallorca Serra de Tramuntana.

The organization reserves themselves the right to modify, interpret and change these regulations to aid the successful running of the event. The race manager, general coordinator and event judges are authorized to definitively rule on any disagreement or dispute relating to the regulations.

To check that you have the latest version, you should consult the review section of these regulations which indicates the date of the latest version.

The II Travessa Mallorca Serra de Tramuntana is run almost entirely on the trail of the GR-221, a route which has various wooden milestones that mark the trail. The organizers will add signage at the point where they consider it necessary with barrier tapes and signage specifically designed for the race. Runners will be predominantly directed by the wooden milestones, while the presence of onlookers will be merely circumstantial. Orienteering also plays an important role within the competition.

Since the race is on the environment of a UNESCO World Heritage Site since 2011, the onlookers or additional signage will be made with reusable and environmentally compatible items.

  • The route planner for any of the 4 races can be found on the official race website (www.travessamallorca.com). Any changes or modifications to the route will be published on the website, as well as on the social media profiles of the Travessa Mallorca on Facebook and Instagram. The route may be changed due to issues with administrative permits.
  • The route will not be closed to the traffic so runners must take extreme precautions and respect other road users in the areas where they may meet.
  • During any of the 5 races of the Travessa Mallorca, including the relay race, the runners must always follow the instructions of the organizers. Failure to do so will result in immediate disqualification.
  • The race will be controlled electronically through the Elitechip timing chip. The runners will carry the timing chip glued to the bib and, on the relay race, the runners will carry an additional timing chip for the team that will be worn on the ankle. If the timing chip are used incorrectly the time reading could be wrong. With this timing system the runners can be follow through Elitechip.net being able to see the passage time on every provision station. There’s the possibility that some runners of the longer distances must wear a GPS tag for the organizers to enable a live tracking of the race. The organizers will place control points along the route to ensure that the runners complete the route, as well as recording the time of each runner.
  • The organizers will place undisclosed checkpoints along the track to avoid any cheating, such as shortcuts. Any runner who does not pass by these checkpoints will incur time penalties which if they are accumulative and repetitive, can lead to disqualification.
  • Taking shortcuts is strictly prohibited and is grounds for disqualification. Any complaint on this matter should be supported by a photograph or video in which the runner is identified as well as the exact point on the route. If the claim is found to be true, it can lead to the disqualification of the runner.

Signage will only be placed at specific points, as the race will be marked out predominantly by the GR-221 milestones. However, the organizers will mark out or add to existing markers in the most difficult areas, especially urban areas, where marking can leave a lot to be desired.

The runners will have a time limit for each of the 5 routes that make up the II Travessa Mallorca Serra de Tramuntana. All runners who reach a checkpoint outside of this time limit will be eliminated from the race. They will not be allowed to continue, not even under their own responsibility; they will be required to hand in their race number and timing chip (in the event of a reusable chip) and sign a document, available at each provision station, which explicitly confirms their withdrawal from the race.

IMPORTANT: Runners may only withdraw from or abandon the race at the checkpoints. In the event of a medical emergency or a similar situation, the appropriate protocols will be activated.
